LEE MORGAN City Lights (1984 Japanese limited edition Blue Note’BLP1500′ series 5-track LP; signed to Blue Note when he was only 18years old, this jazz prodigy, who cut his teeth as a Jazz Messengerwith the great Art Blakey, proceeded to record a stream of impressiverecords as a bandleader. At the ripe old age 19, Morgan helmed thesesessions in August 1957 at Rudy Van Gelder’s Hackensack studio,producing a classic of 50s modern jazz! Housed in it’s open shrinkwrapped, hype stickered picture sleeve along with Japanese text foldout insert. The vinyl is a wonderful Near Mint forty years on! BLP1575)
